Weird News of the Day:
A man in Mississippi claims he saw unidentified flying objects in the shape of a backwards ‘L’ Saturday evening.
The day after the story aired we received a Facebook update about the strange lights in the sky.
Turns out the lights were not from alien visitors… but from a wedding reception. Several sky lanterns were released into the air. The lanterns are paper balloons with a flame inside.
Illegal in some states, the lanterns sometimes cause interference with planes and are often confused with UFO sightings because of their unique glow.
